Surgeons for Sight is partnering with Bayside Medical Missions to provide eye care and surgery in a facility located in Port Viejo, Ecuador. Dr. Paul Fellers and Bayside began this project in 2008 to develop a surgery facility to initially provide orthopedic care. Surgeons for Sight and its supporters are providing the necessary equipment and resources to provide eye surgery at this site. Abbott Medical Optics Inc. and Matt Stillinger have played a critical role in this project. A mission trip to Ecuador to perform surgeries and complete the “eye”part of the clinic is planned for May 2010.
