 New technology has made it possible to screen diabetic patients for diabetic retinopathy in a mobile or remote setting and on a cost effective basis. People with diabetes that do not have access to eye care or have health insurance often do not get diagnosis and treatment to prevent vision loss. Surgeons for Sight is looking for partners to develop screening programs in South Carolina. Through mobile screening units or screening in community centers, we can help those people that may not get diagnosis and treatment of their eye disease.
